THE HCG DIET

The HCG DIET, which has been used successfully since the 1950s, is having an unparalleled upswing in popularity again over the past couple of years.  In my practice it is typical to see requests for this protocol to triple at this time of year when people are looking for a rapid weight loss method that works in anticipation of Summer's outdoor activities.

HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, is a hormone that increases to a very high level during pregnancy.  When given in much smaller doses over a 28 to 40 day duration of the Diet program, it enables a patient to maintain a very restricted caloric intake without experiencing the degree of hunger they otherwise would.  It is also believed to help mobilize unhealthy fat and reset one's metabolism for lasting results.
